Sri Parakala Swamy was known to have attracted countless number of bhaktas and had administered the sacraments of Sri Vaishnava Diksha on them. His taniyan runs as:
Shri Shrinivasa Brahmatantra Swatantra Swamy succeeded Vatsya Vedanta Ramanuja Swamy. He came to be known as Tritiya Brahmatantra Swatantra Maha Deshikan. He was a scholar of great merit and authored many scholarly works including muvaayirappadi on guruparampara prabhaavam. He has also composed a suprabhatam on Swamy Deshikan.
In his poorvaashramam, he was a great advaitin. He once came to Kanchipuram along with a hundred disciples in order to participate in vedantic debate and disputations against Sri Brahmatantra Swatantra Maha Deshikan. The debate went on for almost a week. Before the final day, he had a beautiful dream in which he saw Lord Thiruvenkatamudaiyaan preach him the greatness of the philosophy of Vishishtaadvaitha.
Sacred and divine is the Sri Sampradayam as laid out of Bhagavan Ramanuja, sacred is the true religion and philosophy of our Srutis and Smritis, namely SriVaishnavism and sacred are the mystical, devotional and emotional outpourings of Azhwar Saints.
The Acharya Parampara of Sri Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Matham starts with none other than Swamy Vedanta Desikan, as He is our founder Acharya of the Matham. Towards the later part of His life here on Earth, Swamy Desikan realized that unless a new order of Acharya Paramapara was not established, the world would have no way of emerging from the darkness that is caused due to the outside influences and internal struggles.
