How You can Contribute

There are special projects that are either ongoing under the auspices of the Matham or are under future plans. These projects are in addition to the normal operational activities such as nitya aaraadhanam, and observation of special occasions, and support of other religious activities that, the Acharya considers as worthy of support by the Matham. There are two special trusts that the Acharya has established for the management of these various activities. These are:

1. Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamy (BSPS) Educational and Charitable Trust -for supporting the educational and charitable projects of the Matham such as colleges, paaTha shaalaas etc At present, this Trust is currently managing two educational institutions: 1. Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva College at Mysore, Karnataka 2. Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Preuniversity Arts College at Melukote, Karnataka.

2. Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamy Mutt - for the remaining activities and special projects such as Renovation/Maintenance of Matham and branches, etc. Presently, the project that particularly needs urgent support is the  Renovation and maintenance of the main Mutt at Mysore.

Both the above trusts are currently registered as Tax-exempt accounts under article 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act. Contributions made to these trusts are eligible for Indian income tax deduction to the extent allowed by Indian tax rules. In addition, there is a third account, the general Matham Fund (Swamiji, Parakala Matham), which the Acharya uses at his discretion to support the day-to-day activities at the Matham, and other religious causes which he thinks are worth supporting. Please note that contributions made to this fund are not eligible for Indian income tax exemption consideration.

For more details of the projects listed above, please click on the Projects link . The Matham badly needs your help to carry out these activities. Please send your financial contributions in the form of cheque/DD made payable to any of the above two Trust accounts, or to “Swamiji, Parakala Matham” depending on what project(s) you wish to support and your preference. Indicate the specific project(s) you wish to support on your cheque or in a short note attached to your cheque/DD. Please include your mailing address (and e-mail address, if available) so that we can acknowledge your support, with an official receipt.

Special Note for Donors in USA
An affiliate Institution called “ Sri Parakala Matham” has been established in the US.  US donors may conveniently send their contributions to the Mutt through this Institution. Payments can be made either by cheque or credit card/Paypal account

Please indicate which specific project or activity you want your contribution to support, either on the cheque or in a separate covering letter.
