Annual Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Homam Celebrated at Bangalore Parakala Mutt February 12, 2012

Hayagreeva homam was celebrated in a grand manner  on Sunday, February 12 at tthe Bnagalore Parakala Mutt. This has become an annual celebration for the last few years, before the exam season begins for students in the city. Over 700 children participated in the function after being included in the mahA sankalpam prior to the function. The homam activities started after the mahA sankalpam in the morning and went on till about 1.30 PM in the presence of a devotee congregation of about 2000 people. It was participated by a large number of bhagavathas chanting the vedic hymns appropriate to the occassion.  The function culminated with HH Parakala Jeer personally performing the poorNAhuti and the homam with honey as the bhagavathas chanted the chamakam.  The function ended with prokshanam, tirtha prasadam and thadiyArAdhanam.
