Anubhavams from Atlanta devotees

Sri Lakshmi HayagrIva  and his parivAram arrived in Atlanta from Charlotte NC on the night of Saturday October 15,. The stayed Sunday and left for Seattle on the afternoon of Monday October 17.  While in Atlanta we celebrated two tirumanjanams and two Dolai utsavams at devotee houses. We give below a synopsis of the anubhavams of the devotees.  For  photos from these celebrations, click here.

1. Janaki and Jagannath Harati: “Thanks to Sri Bhattar, our local organizers Sumathi, Bharath & many others who accompanied Lord HayagrIva for making this a memorable event which we cherish forever.
It was a treat to watch the group chanting together, I have no words to express the blissful joy I felt.

It brought back the memories of the Dolai in our house, my father-in-law (late Sri Harati Rangachar) with Purna Kumbham received Sri HH Jeer along with the Lord in Hyderabad few years ago.

Also on a personal note, I felt immense joy as if my father (late Sri Chetlur HayagrIva Char born on HayagrIva Jayanthi day) visited and blessed us bringing the memories of my childhood days”.

2.  Hema and Srinath:  On October 16^th, we were very excited to receive Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar to our house. Perumal was received with Purna Kumbham and Arathi. The dazzling golden mantapam housed Sri Hayagreevar and Thayar comfortably perched on Sri Hayagreevar.  Perumal and the manatapam gained even more beauty when adorned with flower garlands. The white flowers around Sri Hayagreevar reminded us of his description “nirmala sphatika krutheem”

The ladies sang Kannan Kalaliney and Ulagamunda Peruvaaya to describe his infinite glories. Men recited Narayana Upanishad and all the Bhagavathas recited Sri Hayagreeva Sthothram, Gopala Vimshathi and Siriya Thirumadal. This was followed by a wonderful presentation on the essence of Sri Hayagreeva sthothram and a talk about Parakala matham.  Narayaneeyam recitation was on the matchless beauty of Sriman Narayana, Lakshmi Swayamvaram and Rasakreeda. Then all the Bhagavathas performed Chamara sevai and received theertha prasaadham.

This was followed by Bhojyasanam and saatrumurai. All the devotees were happy to receive the blessings of Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar

3.  Sumathi and Bharath: srimathE rAmanujAya namaha: With the blessings of achArya, we started our preparations a month ahead of time to have anubhavam of Sri lakshmi HayagrIva. Children started learning stotrAs such as HayagrIva sampadA stotram, hayagrIva ashottara shata nAma stotram. We also learnt hayagrIva prabodhika stuti ( suprabhathAm) that is  recited at parakAla maTam.  We practiced thanians of all the 36 purvAcharyAs of parakAla maTam. adiyen  put together a talk in english for my son, that touched upon hayagrIva avathAram, Swami desika and hayagrIva, our azhwArs on hayahrIvaa and finally some of the highlights of meanings of HayagrIva Stotram which is swami desikan’s rhetoric master piece by the use of onomatopoeia describing the word Halahala sound as an aggregation of veda mantras. We prepared a banner and bulletin board for parakala matam

 The day that we were waiting for, came finally. Archakar swami and perumal came to our house from NC. Song in nilAmbari ragam and thalelO were sung during shayanotsavam that night. In the morning, perumAl was woken up by the Krishna brahmatantra Jeeyar's Prabodhika stuti. Devotees enjoyed perumAl's tirumanjanam and alakankAram at our house. After that, they listened to the talk on Lord hayagrIva and one devotee came up to adiyen and said she had tears of joy hearing the talk on HayagrIva, who bestows true knowledge. adiyen sung few azhwar pashurams on lord hayagRiva/madhosoodhana in various rAgams. After shattumorai,sambhavanai teertham and shatari ,devotees had prasadam- hayagrIva sweet, katrikay vangibath, puliyodhare, kadamba and Thayir sadam, kosambari and badusha( adiyen remembered that badusha was served  at parakAla matam thadiyaradhane in b'lore).. With a heavy heart, we left archakar and perumAl to the airport to go to Seattle.

Our humble namaskArams and pallandu pallandu to Sri rAmapriyan mama whose efforts cannot be described in words to make this event happen.
