Arrival of Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal and Thayar to Metro Detroit Area
Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva PerumAL, along with Sri Ramanuja and Swamy Desikan arrived on 21st August 2011 evening to Metro Detroit area. Sri. Sarvesh Seshadri and Sri Vijayaraghavan Rengachari mama graciously brought Perumal, Thayar, Sri Ramanuja and Swami Desikan along with ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar from Erie, Pennsylvania. They were received with Arathi into the house of Sri Radesh Vangipuram and Sripriya Raghunathan. Our ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar performed all the important vedic rituals to properly provide a resting place for PerumaL, Thayar, Sri Ramanuja and Swami Desikan. We started the Detroit program the following day, 22nd with a Our ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar performing the morning TirumanjanaM to PerumaL and followed by dolai aAradhana of PerumaL at the residence of Sri Vijayaraghavan Rengachari Mama and Smt. Viji Mami.

Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal, Thayar, Sri Ramanuja and Swami Desikan were welcomed to Sri Vijayaraghavan mama's home with aarathi, and poornakumbham. After setting up the oonjal, ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar did a beautiful alamkaaram with beautiful flowers including Jasmine flower garlands. Sri Varadaraja Bhattar performed ArchanA followed by Sri VishNuSahasranamam recitation and Sri Hayagreeva StoThram by bhaktaas. Many devout bhakta's assisted in making garlands for the alankaaram. After sattrumurai and sambhavana, theertham, shataari and prasaadam were provided to all bhaktAs. The entire program was webcast live and were enjoyed by devotees in various countries around the world.
It was a wonderful experience and all the attendees felt very fortunate to celebrate the blissful event. Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal, Thayar , Sri Ramanuja and Swami Desikan arrived late at night to have His yoganidrA at Sri Radesh Vangipuram's home.

Early in the morning on Friday, ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar started preparations for Tirumanjanam to Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal. Bhattar performed Tirumanjanam for Perumal, ShaThAri and Acharyas with milk, honey, tender coconut water, Chandana KAppu and ManJal kappu in such a traditional manner that it was a divine blessing to be a part of it. The Veda Ghoshti recited ThiruppallAndu, ThiruppAvai, AmalanAdhipiran, and kaNNinuN SiruthAmbu. During the Abhishekam, Sikshvalli, Narayana Suktam, Sri Suktam, Vishnu Suktam, BhooSuktham and Neela Suktam were recited by the Ghoshti. NeeraTTam pAsuram was recited next followed by PurushaSuktam.
Then, ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar did a beautiful alamkaaram to PerumaL, thayar, and Acharyas. Smt. Lalitha Bhaskar, Smt. Vidya Mohanram and Smt. Lavanya Kannan sang few melodious songs during the Oonjal Sevai. After Saatrumurai and Sambavana, Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Divya Dampati's and the acharyas blessed the devotees with Thirtham, Thulasi, shaTari and prasadam. It was a blissful divine experience with the enchanting Vigraha of Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva having a mystical effect on all the bhaKtas. The entire program was webcast live and were enjoyed by devotees in various countries around the world.

Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal and the acharyas were welcomed to Sri Ranganathan and Smt Anushas home with aarathi, and poornakumbham with naathaswaram music in the background. After setting up the oonjal, ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar did a beautiful alankaaram of the dhivya dampathi and performed archana. Many devotees present recited Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam, followed by Hayagreeva stotram, AmalanAdhipiran, and kaNNinuN SiruthAmbu. Perumal and Thaayar were then entertained by melodious krithis by Chi Ashwin Ranganathan and Anurag Ranganathan. After sattrumurai and sambhavana, bhaagavathas received theertham, shataari and prasaadam. Everybody enjoyed the divine presence of Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal and the Acharyas and were hopeful that Perumal will once again visit them for the Dolai Sancharam next year. It was a very magical and emotional experience for all who attended this event and everybody who later saw the Vigraham were captivated by its enchanting divine attributes. Everyone was hopeful that Perumal will visit again next year. The entire program was webcast live and were enjoyed by devotees in various countries around the world.

After setting up the oonjal, ArAdhakar Sri Varadaraja Bhattar did a beautiful alankaaram of the dhivya dampathi and performed archana. Bhaktas present recited Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam, followed by Hayagreeva stotram, AmalanAdhipiran, and kaNNinuN SiruthAmbu. Then Sri Hayagriva Stothram, and Sri Desika Mangalam were recited. Melodious Kritis were also rendered by Smt Lalitha Bhaskar. Dolai Aaradhana was also watched live at Yale University by Chi. Sudharshan Mohanram via Skype. After Saatrumurai and Sambavana, Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Divya Dampati's and the acharyas blessed the devotees with Thirtham, Thulasi, shaTari and prasadam.
Everybody enjoyed the divine presence of Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal and the Acharyas and were hopeful that Perumal will once again visit them for the Dolai Sancharam next year. The entire program was webcast live and were enjoyed by devotees in various countries around the world.
After the program, Perumal, Thayar , Sri Ramanuja and Swami Desikan were taken to Dayton, Ohio for the Dolai Aradhana Sancharam. We in Metro Detroit area are anxiously waiting for Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva Perumal to bless us all again during his Dolai Sancharam next year.

aDiyEn would like to highlight the divine experience on the sancaram of SrI lakshmI hayagrEva perumaL of SrI ParakAla matham's visit to the greater Cincinnati area.SrI lakshmi sameta hayagrEva bhagavAn with parivArms of SrI Satari,bhagavad bhAshyakArar, SvAmi Desikan, and our officiating priest,Svami U.Ve. Varadaraja bhattar arrived at Dayton, OH around 7 p.m.on Sep 24, 2011. The chain of utsavams, like a relay race, started fromBoston,through Detroit, finally landed to greater Cincinnati area.
Smt. Shalini and SrImAn Muralidhar Rangaswami were the first hosts to receive the bhagavAn at Dayton. The grand welcome ceremony was with poorna kumbham carried by SrimAn Murali with thundering gOsham of "ghanam" (reciting vedAs in various ways and patterns) and Arthi at the entrance.
Sri. Varadaraja bhattar was very efficient in putting the dOlai mandaopam, while Chi. Anirudh and Sou. Shriya were entertaining the bhagavAn and bhAgavatAs with the composition of their own grandfather. It was followed by the chanting of SrI VishNu sahsranAmam, SrI hayagrEva stotram, and archana. PerumAl had sayanam at Dayton. bhAgavatAs enjoyed sumptuous prasAdams very delicately prepared by Smt. Shalini.
On Sunday Sep 25, 2011 around 7:30 a.m., bhagavAn and parivarAms landed to the next host's home. bhagavAn was received with poorna kumbham and with samA ghAnam. The Lord took a slow and long walk and finally entered the house, with Arthi and mangala vAdyam music in background. PerumAl had a wonderful tirumanjanam with all the traditional ingredients like milk, honey, coocnut water etc. For most of the bhAgavatAs, this was the first experience to witness, enjoy, and blessed with SrI lakshmI hayagrEva triumanjanam. BhagavAn was offered with mutlitude of food varieties and later the prasadams were distributed to gOshti. Wonderful recitation of panca suktams, nithyanausandhAnam, Sri VishNu sahasranAmam and melodious singing and music by many children and adults uplifted the divine experience.
Around 2 p.m. bhagavAn was welcomed with poorna kumbham and Arthi to Smt. Rema and SrI. Devanathan's home. While lord hAyagrEva was enjoying the gentle swayin of the swing, He was listening to the recitation of vedAntAcAryar's compositions like - "Sri hAyagEva storam, dasAvatAra stotram, mahavEra vaibhavam, gopAla vimsati, mummanikkovai, navamani mAlai etc. Bhagavan was offered with wonderful snacks, nicely prepared by Smt. Rema and the prasadams were distributed gOshti.
Around 6 p.m. Bhagavan was received with poorna kumbham and Arthi at Smt. Shanthi and Dr. Vijay Rajan's home and one can see the extended smile of the bhagavAn's face on seeing such a large crowd of bhAgvatAs. We had recitations of several flavors - consisting of vedas, stotras, prabhadhams including pillai andhAdi. Bhagavan was offered with delicious food carefully prepared by Smt. Shanthi and later the prasAdams were distributed to the gOshti. We had several music performances by children and adults. SrI Murali Rangaswami mesmerized the audience with a nice, short talk on Lord hAyagrEva.
On Monday and Tuesday the Lord was offering ekAntha seva at aDiyEn's graham. On Tuesday evening, aDiyEn had the bhAgyam of accompanying the bhagavAn and parivarams to Indianapolis and handed over the responsibility to Smt. Usha and Sri. NirvalUr Srinivasan.
This process of handing over the baton, reminds of what Srimad Rahasyatraya sAram and kaushIkI upanishad illustrates. When the mukthAma ascends to SrIvaikuntam through archirAdi mArgham, he recieves all the welcome, honors, and namaskArams from the the devAs. The leader from each of that devA group, escorts the new muktha soul upto the end of their territory and hand over the responsibility to the chief of the next region. aDiyEn felt the same while transporting the lord Himself.
The bhAavata gOshti had a wonderful experience and blessings of SrI lakshmI hayagrEva, which can't be easily described by mere words. We all thank Sri parakAla matham for blessing us with this opportunity and SrI. Ramaprian mama for his help, coordination, and advice in many aspects of this utsavam. Finally, SrI Varadaraja bhattar is a gem, who enjoys doing kaimkaryam to bhagavAn and making every effort to satisfy the bhAgavata gOshti.
